Nursing
There are two Nursing communities located on the UConn campus. One is for first year nursing majors, and the other is for returning students who are sophomors, juniors or seniors.
First Year Nursing Learning Community
Who Can Apply: Incoming first year Nursing majors
Where Students Live: Northwest Quandrange, Rogers Hall
Course: INTD 1810, LLC: Nursing; 1-credit; meets Fall semester; LC students are automatically enrolled
The Nursing Learning Community will prepare nursing majors for the challenges that await them in their program, as well as take advantage of activities and events that promote increased contact with faculty and staff of the School of Nursing. This community is a great support network for first year nursing majors.
Nursing Seminar
The first year experience (FYE) nursing seminar (INTD 1810) is taught by School of Nursing faculty who provide students with an introduction to the major, as well as to the University of Connecticut.
Returning Students Nursing Learning Community
Who Can Apply: Returning Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors; Open to Nursing Majors Only
Where Students Live: South Campus, Rosebrooks Hall
Returning Nursing Majors can choose to live together in the South Campus Nursing Learning Community. Students support each other academically and socially, while interacting closely with School of Nursing faculty and staff.
Returning nursing students in the learning community welcome the new class of incoming first year students and serve as their mentors, helping them adjust to life at UConn, and also providing support with information about their major.
