2017-2018 Learning Community Executive Council (LCEC) Application

Application Instructions: Please complete the application below for the 2017-2018 Learning Community Executive Council. Applications must include an attached resume in order to be considered. Applications will be reviewed and candidates will be notified if they have been offered an interview by the end of February.

Application Deadline: Applications will open on January 4, 2017 and will close on February 17, 2017.

About the position: The goal of the Learning Community Executive Council is to work with the Learning Community Program office to develop programming to enhance the experience of Learning Community students, work with individual Learning Community Teams to support their programs, events, and field trips and to support events, programs, and training.  Members of the Learning Community Executive Council have the opportunity to sit on different committees (search committees, award committees, etc.) for First Year Programs & Learning Communities and contribute to larger scale initiatives and projects.


• Must have lived in a Learning Community for at least one full academic year by the start of the Fall 2016 semester.

• Must be a full time, undergraduate student at UConn for the entire 2017-2018 academic year.

• Must attend bi-weekly Learning Community Executive Council Meetings during the Fall and Spring semester, retreats and leadership trainings, one-on-one meetings with the LCEC president, and other meetings and events that are planned (Field Day, Learning Community Spirit Week).

• Must be willing to contribute positively to the Learning Community Executive Council, and to the Learning Community Program. Ideal candidates should have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, be a self starter, and exhibit a passion for improving the Learning Community Program.
