About
The confidentiality of student records and information is of the utmost importance. Student records at the University of Connecticut, including those maintained by UConn FYP, LC & AAC instructors and mentors are principally governed by federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, as amended. FERPA protects the privacy of educational records, establishes the students’ rights to inspect their educational records, provides guidelines for correcting inaccurate or misleading data through informal hearings, and permits students to file complaints with FERPA concerning alleged failures of the institution to comply with this Act.
